The video opens in heavy rain.
A small dog is dragging himself across a slick, crowded road. His back legs lie motionless behind him. Each time a car approaches, he scrambles awkwardly to the side, trying to avoid danger.
The lower half of his body is badly worn from friction against the asphalt. The skin is raw, irritated, and injured from repeated contact with the ground.
He looks exhausted.
But what stands out most is his expression — eyes filled with quiet pleading and fatigue, as if he has already endured far more than anyone should.
A Man Who Chose to Stop
Among the passing vehicles, one car slows down.
A man steps out, approaches gently, and offers a small piece of sausage. The dog accepts it cautiously, hunger overcoming fear.
Instead of turning away, the man lifts him carefully and brings him home.
For safety, the dog is placed in a secure enclosure where he can rest. Food and water are provided. The man begins cleaning the wounds on his back legs and lower body with steady hands.
The dog remains still.
Not frozen with fear — but calm, almost understanding.
As if he knows this is different.
The turning point begins not with a miracle, but with patience.
Video: From Dragging on Rainy Asphalt to Standing Again — Fubao’s Journey to Strength
The Diagnosis No One Wanted to Hear
At the veterinary clinic, X-rays reveal serious injuries.
A fractured spine.
Broken bones.
Severe spinal cord damage causing paralysis in the hind legs.
The condition explains everything.
Daily treatments begin. Acupuncture sessions. Laser therapy to stimulate nerve activity. Careful wound management. Nutritional support to rebuild strength.
Each session is uncomfortable.
Yet Fubao — as he is now named — does not cry out or resist. He cooperates quietly, allowing the process to continue.
Gradually, his appetite returns.
Strength begins to follow.
Building Hope with Wood and Wheels
To prevent further damage to his injured lower body, the man constructs a custom wooden rehabilitation frame with small wheels — a training device designed to help Fubao stand upright safely.
At first, he struggles.
Balance feels foreign.
But day by day, he adjusts.
Within a month, Fubao gains weight — nearly 3 kilograms. His wounds begin to close. New fur slowly grows over healed skin.
And then something extraordinary happens.
His tail moves in response to touch.
There is sensation.
A flicker of nerve response returning.
It’s small — but it means everything.

A Life Beyond the Road
Eventually, Fubao receives a proper wheelchair built for mobility support. With it, he moves freely across grass and open space.
He no longer drags himself across asphalt.
He runs.
Not with four legs — but with determination and wheels.
He even meets other dogs who face similar physical challenges. Together, they play on the lawn, chasing and encouraging one another in their own unique ways.
The once-exhausted dog on a rainy road now carries energy and confidence.
His eyes no longer plead.
They shine.
A Message That Stays
Fubao’s journey is not just about recovery from injury.
It is about intervention.
One person choosing to stop.
One person choosing to act.
One person refusing to look away.
Every living being has a spirit.
If we cannot offer love, we should at least refuse to cause harm.
Fubao once dragged himself through rain and traffic.
Now he moves forward — not alone, not forgotten, and no longer fighting just to survive.
